Xiaomi’s Mi band series of smart wearables have become popular thanks to its optimal set of features along with its affordability. Up until the Mi Band 4 last year, the wearable saw incremental upgrades to little change in design. However, Mi Band 5 is changing all that with a new set of design changes and features. It boasts a bigger screen along with a better fitness tracking assistant. The Xiaomi Mi Band 5 Price in Nepal and in the international market is similar to its predecessors.

Xiaomi Mi Band 5 Features and Specs

Mi Band 5 still has a familiar vertical design for its display. But the screen size has grown from 0.95 inches to 1.1 inches. The bigger screen gives more space for interaction and easy visibility. Another major upgrade for Mi Band 5 is the new AMOLED display with higher brightness and power efficiency. Mi Band 5 also features animation watch faces with characters from series like SpongeBob, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Hatsune Miku, etc.


Mi Band 5 Sensors and Software

It now comes with a PAI (Personal Activity Intelligence) score to provide a general idea about users’ fitness status and workout efforts.

Mi Band 5 sensors are the same as the last ones including an accelerometer, heart rate monitor, barometer, and a gyroscope. The heart monitoring system on Mi Band 5 has shown considerable improvements as the PPG sensor is now 50% more accurate. Just like the new Apple Watch, it can detect heart abnormalities and notify users to take precautions. As for sleep tracking, Mi Band 5 can now record data related to the user’s REM sleep cycles.

NFC and New Charging dock

The Mi Band 5 also comes in an NFC version. So, the band can be used as a remote shutter for taking photos, or more generally for making electronic payments.


Xiaomi has also improved the charging dock design, as it now clamps on to the back of the band with magnets. It packs a 125mAh battery and is supposed to last for 14 days on a single charge.

It is scheduled to start selling from June 18 in China. Mi Band 5 price starts from CNY 189 for the standard variant, while the NFC one will cost CNY 229. The Xiaomi Mi Band 5 Price in Nepal along with the launch date is yet to be unveiled.
