The online platforms like Daraz and Sastodeal created a safe shopping platform and we can see people’s increasing trust nowadays. Last year, Daraz held Black Friday sales in Nepal which was a huge hit. Black Friday is an informal name for the day following Thanksgiving Day in the United States. But since Daraz is now acquired by Alibaba (a Chinese company), we will see 11.11 Sales day this year.
11.11 Sales Day is actually Alibaba’s Singles Day that takes place every year on November 11. This day is regarded as the world’s largest shopping festival. From this year, Daraz will be eliminating the Black Friday and introduce the 11.11 Sales Day. The world’s largest shopping festival is finally coming to Nepal and people just can’t ignore it.
Last year, the festival witnessed some overwhelming sales. A sale of 25 billion USD was recorded on a festival day. Alibaba started the 11.11 Sales Day in 2009 which was a massive hit and even managed to beat Black Friday sales. The sales number even beat all the records of the well-known e-commerce giant Amazon. It’s good to hear that Daraz is officially welcoming 11.11 this year onwards to Nepal.
11.11 Sales Day: What to expect?
Daraz officially announced about the festival on 24th of October. In an event held on 28th October at Hotel Annapurna, Daraz unveiled their strategies and more about the 11.11 Sales Day. According to the company, the 11.11 will be much bigger than the Black Friday. We will see huge discounts, exclusive product launches, crazy flash sales, brand vouchers and unbelievable offers from your favorite brands. That’s not the only thing we would see on that day. Daraz will also be selling the mystery boxes at a low cost and you have no idea as what will be inside the box.
Talking about discounts, you can get up to 80% discount on your favorite items including clothing, fashion accessories, smartphones, laptops and what not. We are yet to know about the deals Daraz will offer on that day, but the company claims it will be unbeatable. The company is aiming to raise 100,000 orders on a single day.
Daraz recently unveiled their all-new Daraz app with certain AI features. The company claims that the app, now, has nearly 400,000 active users. The app will not just let you see official stores, offer brand vouchers but also let you know about daily flash sales and provide better customer service interaction.

Daraz is also preparing to unveil and launch some new products exclusively on that day. We already know that one of them is the Pocophone F1, but there are a lot more to come. Daraz will also be expanding its network via more Daraz Hubs in more and different places! In addition, Daraz also promises for the quicker and timely deliveries through their own delivery fleet.
