Apple has updated its 27-inch iMac computer to give it a better performance along with much-needed storage upgrades. The new 27-inch iMac now features Intel processors up to 10 cores along with fast SSDs. Some feature updates also include a better webcam, a 5K display, and better speakers. With added options comes added cost, so 27-inch iMac price will match any additional upgrades mentioned here.

Intel i9 CPU & New AMD Graphics
With the Intel 6 core and 8 core options, Apple has now added a new 10-core Intel i9 processor that delivers faster performance. It has a max turbo boost clock speed of up to 5.0 GHz. According to Apple, the new 10 core iMac delivers 40% faster video encoding, along with 35% faster 3D rendering. Even the memory of the new iMac can be expanded up to a whopping 128GB DDR4 RAM. This is especially useful when doing memory intensive tasks like handling high res 8K video files during editing.
Updated AMD Graphics
As for the new graphics cards, Apple has introduced new AMD Radeon 5000 series graphics cards. It includes the Radeon 5300, Radeon 5500XT and the 5700XT graphics card.
Retina 5K Display with Nano-texture Coating
27-inch iMac already has a stunning display with 5K resolution. It can display 1billion colors at 500 nits of brightness along with a P3 gamut color space coverage. However, the newest option for the display is the nano-texture glass option. This was first introduced on the Pro Display XDR which provides better viewing under the glare and bright room conditions.
Improved Camera, Mic & Speakers
The new iMac now also features a 1080p webcam along with better image processing by the T2 chip. Adjustments such as tone mapping, face detection, and exposure control provides a better image quality through the webcam. The T2 chip also optimizes the speaker output by enabling variable EQ. It also has a new studio-quality microphone so additional mics for general voice chats and recordings aren’t necessary.

The 27-inch iMac price starts at $1,799. It is available for order today through apple official website and Apple stores. The iMacs are also getting a big macOS Big Sure update in the fall.
