ZTE has once again proved its innovative capabilities by introducing, for the first time, a phone that has a front camera under the display. In order to maximize screen space, companies have tried notch designs, pop-up selfie cameras and even rotating cameras. However, putting the front camera right under the screen had not been possible commercially until now. Besides the new selfie camera, the phone also features a decent mid-range specs with good aesthetics and build. Lets explore more about the ZTE Axon 20 5G below.
Features and Specs
Aside from the headlining feature of the phone, ZTE Axon 20 5G is a basically a mid-range phone with a decent build and display specs. For starters, ZTE Axon 20 5G has a large 6.92-inch OLED display with a FULL HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels. It also rocks a high refresh rate of 90Hz along with a 240Hz touch sampling rate.
The front camera sits right under the display at the top. It uses a “high transparency material that includes new organic and inorganic films”. According to ZTE, this new tech allows the camera to take pictures without light leaks that plagued the early prototypes from other companies. ZTE has also used in-built software touchups to reduce any artifacts or loss of image quality caused by the unconventional design. As for the camera specs, the front camera has a 32MP sensor with plenty of resolution for details.
At the back, ZTE Axon 20 5G has a quad camera setup featuring a 64MP, f/1.8 main camera. It also includes an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro camera.
ZTE Axon 20 5G performance is also satisfactory on paper for a mid-ranger, at is packs a top of the line Snapdragon 765G processor. The chipset is accompanied by 6GB and 8GB RAM configurations and a max 256GB internal storage.
Just like the front camera, ZTE Axon 20 5G features an under-display fingerprint scanner. The phone is powered by a 4220mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging.
ZTE Axon 20 5G Price
The phone is initially going on sale in China and is available in three RAM and storage configurations. ZTE Axon 20 5G price starts at CNY 2,198(~$320) for the 6/128GB variant. Then the price rises upto CNY 2,498 and CNY 2,798 for 8/128GB and 8/156GB variants respectively.
