IMS Pvt. Ltd, the official distributor of Samsung smartphones in Nepal, has recently launched their latest mid-tier smartphone- the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2. The phone is the follow up the previous J7 Prime. With a price of Rs 28,990, here are all the things the phone has to offer.
About the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2
The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 packs a 5.5-inch Full-HD display with a pixel density of 401PPI. For those expecting an 18:9 near bezel-less display, it sadly isn’t here. The phone, however, packs a 2.5D glass for a more smoother user experience.
Under the hood, the J7 Prime 2 packs an octa-core Exynos 7870 processor along with the Mali T830MP2 GPU. The silicon is backed by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The memory of the phone can be further expanded via a micro-sd card up to 256GB. The phone also supports dual-sim cards and is 4G capable.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 oddly enough doesn’t come with a dual-camera setup. While the competition is offering both a near bezel-less display and dual-cameras, Samsung seems to be falling behind. That said, the J7 Prime 2 packs a capable f/1.9 13MP rear camera accompanied by a LED flash. The phone also flaunts a f/1.9 front camera for all your social media ready selfies.
Sitting snug discussed as a physical home button is a fingerprint scanner. This inclusion will add an extra layer of security to the phone! Moving on, at the software side of things, the phone runs Samsung Experience based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. And finally powering the device all up is a 3300mAh non-user removable battery. This will without a doubt be enough to get users through a day of usage on a single charge.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 is a good smartphone but is a bit late to the party. While competing phones at the same price level are offering bigger things, Samsung is still stuck in its traditional ways. Samsung really needs to up their game and come up with something disruptive in the mid-tier segment. That all being said, the Galaxy J7 Prime 2 is still a great smartphone for anyone looking for a more normal and safe smartphone under Rs 30,000 in Nepal.
