Huawei recently launched their latest mid-tier smartphone, the Huawei Y9 (2018) in the international market. The phone just like its cousin, the Huawei Nova 2i, packs a total of 4 cameras- 2 on the front and 2 on the back. Not only that but the phone is also priced very competitively at just $250. Sounds like a great deal? If yes then rejoice as we hear highly possible news that the phone will soon launch here in Nepal. Before we get more into the details, let us first take a quick look at what else the phone has to offer.
About the Huawei Y9 (2018)
The Huawei Y9 (2018) packs a 5.93-inch Full HD (1080×2160) IPS display with an 18:9 near bezel-less design. The display is edged out by a 2.5D glass giving the users a seamless experience. Encasing the internals of the phone is a metallic shell which looks and feels premium.
Under the hood, the Y9 (2018) sports an octa-core Kirin 659 processor along with the Mali-T830 MP2 GPU. The processor is backed by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The memory of the phone can be further expanded by a micro-sd card up to 256GB. The phone also supports dual sim-cards and is 4G compatible.
In the camera department, the Huawei Y9 (2018) packs a quad-camera setup with a pair on each side. At the rear, the device boasts a 16MP+2MP combo with a LED flash holding it all up. The Y9 also has a 13MP+2MP duo at the front for all your social media ready selfies. And sitting just below the rear camera is a fingerprint scanner embedded into the phone’s back panel. Moving on, at the software front, the Y9 (2018) runs EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo. And finally powering the device all up is a beefy 4000mAh non-user removable battery. This, without a doubt, will be enough to get users through a day of usage on a single charge.

The Huawei Y9 (2018), at least on paper, looks to be a great mid-tier smartphone that has a lot to offer. The phone has a lot of similarities to its cousin, the Nova 2i which is a good thing. Expect the phone to launch very soon here in Nepal! Huawei Nepal is all gears for it and will launch the phone within a few weeks. Pricing still hasn’t been confirmed but it is safe to assume that the phone will be tagged around Rs 25,000- Rs 30,000 here. At this price, the features the phone offers are amazing. Definitely a viable candidate for the best mid-tier smartphone in 2018!
