Although they have the one feature in common, the two phones couldn’t be worlds apart. Being a comparatively expensive phone, the K20 is a bit more feature-rich and advance. Performance

The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 and the Redmi K20 are both well-performing phones. They both pack the best processors for their respective price range. The K20 has its trusty Qualcomm SDM730 Snapdragon 730 SoC while the Y9 Prime packs a Hisilicon Kirin 710F processor. Although on paper the offering from the Redmi camp might seem compelling, the Huawei made chipset is no slouch. I got amazing performance with the phone. Everything from scrolling through Instagram to firing up a few games was a joy. Our very own Writer, Bimal Man Shrestha, loved playing PUBG on the phone. He was highly impressed and exclaimed it to be the best gaming experience on a mid-tier smartphone.

Storage

Storage is one of the most important factors while deciding on a smartphone. You want to choose a smartphone which has enough storage for your needs. And if the phone doesn’t have the internal storage you need, it better god-damn have a storage expansion option. Sadly for the K20, the storage option is limited to 128GB with no room for expansion via a micro-sd card. This really is a bummer!

On the other hand, the Y9 Prime 2019 packs 128GB of internal storage with storage expansion via a micro-sd card up to 1TB. So if you feel the need, you can easily expand the memory. I know, many people might argue that 128GB of internal storage is more than enough. But I beg to differ! On my personal device, I have already used up 110GB of storage. I know, I am not your typical user but if I ever needed it I can easily upgrade my storage. And that is the freedom of having expandable storage!

Camera Features

Both the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 and Redmi K20 has some amazing cameras. The Y9 packs a triple camera set up made by an f/1.8 16MP wide, an f/2.4 8MP ultra-wide, and an f/2.4 2MP depth-sensor. The K20, on the other hand, packs an f/1.8 48MP wide, an f/2.4 8MP telephoto, and an f/2.4 13MP ultra-wide lens. Although both the phones take some amazing photos, the image quality of the K20 is much better, especially in low light. That said, the Y9 Prime holds its own packing a lot of camera features. This helps take advantage of the camera to get some creative shots.

The camera packs all the basics like the portrait mode, night mode, aperture mode, and a pro mode. In addition to that, the Y9 Prime 2019 packs modes like slow-mo, panorama, AR lens, and time-lapse. Some unique features including a Light painting, HDR, and a moving picture mode are here. These features help the phone take some creative and unique photos. Sadly, most of these features are missing on the Redmi K20.

So, these were some of the reasons why the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 is better than the Redmi K20. That said, both these phones are excellent devices and have a lot to offer. If you have a higher budget of Rs 40,000, you can go for the Redmi K20. But if you want the pop-up selfie camera without having to break the bank, the Y9 Prime 2019 is your best option right now.
