For the past few months, you must have regularly heard the name Coolpad. They have been launching new smartphones back to back here in Nepal. Their latest iteration, the budget-friendly Coolpad Cool 10A. The phone packs a lot of cool features for a price of just Rs 12,495.
With the tagline of “Smartphone For Everyone” Coolpad looks to cater their phone to everyone including the budget-conscious. We have had the phone for a couple of days now and in this article, we are going to go over our findings. So with that, let’s begin our initial impression and hands-on review of the Coolpad Cool 10A.
Coolpad Cool 10A Initial Impressions
The Coolpad Cool 10A comes in some pretty good packaging. The box makes a combination of blue and white color with company branding all around. Cutting the seal and popping off the top lid, we are immediately greeted by the phone itself. Putting it aside for a while and removing the divider, next we get a small box. Inside it, there is a sim ejector tool, a clear case, a plastic screen protector, and a user manual. It is very thoughtful of Coolpad to include the clear case and the screen protector. They definitely will come in handy for the initial protection. Next up, we have the 10W Fast charger, a micro-USB cable, and a basic in-ear headphone.
Holding the Cool 10A for the first time, it felt solid in the hands. At the rear, there is a texture that feels very similar to the Redmi 9 Power. Nonetheless, it is a great inclusion for a phone cost less than Rs 15,000. I also love the color and shine of the material. Other design elements include a tear-drop style notch which further adds to the appeal of the phone.
Display
The first thing that I noticed as soon as I turned on the phone is how good the display is. I was thoroughly impressed by the brightness of the panel. It also is vibrant and packs a level of smoothness. This undoubtedly is one of, if not, the best display available at this price. Anyone looking to buy a budget phone with the best display will be thoroughly impressed. For those looking for technical specs, it is a 6.5-inch HD+ IPS panel with a 20:9 aspect ratio.
Cameras
Talking about the cameras, the phone a combination of 13MP and 0.5MP at the rear. The sensors are also backed by AI to further enhance the picture-taking experience. It also has a slew of features and modes like Interval, Night, and Night DV. The phone also offers HDR toggles, which is rare at this price point. For those who love using the beauty mode, the phone has got you covered.
On initial impression, the images from the camera are decent. Although I would have liked a bit more saturation and a little less grain, the offering is acceptable at this price point. More on the camera, in our full review. The Cool 10A also sports a 5MP front camera for all your selfies. Here again, I would have loved a little more saturation and sharpness.
Battery & More
The Coolpad Cool 10A packs a 4000mAh non-removable battery. This combined with the HD display and Unisoc SC9863A SoC should make for all-day battery life. The phone also comes with a 10W fast charger right out of the box if you need to quickly juice up the phone.
Besides these, other features of the phone include a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual-sim capabilities, and storage expansion via a micro-sd card. The Cool 10A also packs an almost stock version of Android 11 which is a sweet deal.

The Coolpad Cool 10A is one of the best phones in the budget segment. The provides has a lot to offer for a price of just Rs 12,495. Looking at the competition, the phone stands tall in many aspects.
