Google has finally unveiled its new budget phone for the year 2020, the new Google Pixel 4a. It packs a decent single camera system at the back in addition to a simple design and modest mid-tier specs. As a result, the phone is cheap as ever while delivering a decent display and camera. Google Pixel 4A price is mostly justified because of its stellar google camera software along with Google’s stock Android experience.
Specifications & Features
Google has gone low-key with the design of Pixel 4A, as it only comes in a single color, Black. It has a unibody plastic design along with a square camera bump and punch-hole display. The display is a 5.81-inch OLED panel with an FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels.
As for performance, Pixel 4A features a Snapdragon 730G processor alongside the Adreno 618 graphics. There’s also plenty of room for multitasking with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Given the low-end mid-range processor, the omission of a high refresh rate screen is obvious in Pixel 4A.
Coming back to the single biggest attraction of Google Pixel 4A, the single-camera setup isn’t too common these days. The absence of an ultra-wide camera is the most apparent while macro and depth cameras aren’t that important. The portrait mode in Google’s camera software does a very good job of blurring the background without the depth sensors anyway.
The main camera is a 12.2MP camera sensor with an f\1.7 aperture. Combined with its software features, the Google Pixel 4A delivers high dynamic range images with enough detail for social media. The front camera on Google Pixel 4A is an 8MP camera sensor for selfies. The front camera also supports portrait mode to blur the backgrounds.
Google Pixel 4A has a 3140 mAh battery with an 18W fast charging support. It’s not the greatest in the market but should deliver average screen-on times. There’s also a fingerprint scanner at the back of the phone for biometrics.

The phone has only launched in the US right now and is up for pre-orders. Google Pixel 4A price is $349 for the 6GB variant. It is expected to launch in other European countries and Asian markets at the end of the year.
