After the launch of Key2, Sakha Group, the official distributor of BlackBerry smartphones in Nepal, is gearing up to launch the Blackberry Evolve. The phone, this time around, ditches the physical keypad for more of a traditional attire. It also follows the current trends by packing in a dual-camera setup and an 18:9 display. Including these, here is everything the phone has to offer for a price of Rs 33,500.
BlackBerry Evolve Overview
The BlackBerry Evolve packs a 5.99-inch Full HD (1080 x 2160) IPS display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. BlackBerry, for this phone, has done away with the physical keypad in favor of a full-bodied display. And protecting this panel from dings and scratches is the Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Great inclusion on BlackBerry’s part!
Under the hood, the BlackBerry Evolve packs a Qualcomm SDM450 Snapdragon 450 processor along with the Adreno 506 GPU. This is one area that I feel BlackBerry could have done a bit better! A Snapdragon 660 would have done wonders to an otherwise great phone. Backing the SoC is 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The memory of the phone can be further expanded via a micro-sd card up to 256GB.
In the camera department, the BlackBerry Evolve packs a rear dual-camera set up made by two 13MP sensors. Among the two, the secondary shooter is a Monochrome sensor. This will be helpful to preserve those shadow details of the photos. The phone also comes with a 16MP front camera accompanied by a front flash. And sitting below the rear cameras is a fingerprint scanner embedded into the phone’s back panel.
Moving on, at the software spectrum, the Evolve runs an almost stock version of Android 8.1 Oreo. Something new in the software is the inclusion of Dolby Audio with surround sound experience. It also comes with a slew of Security features that we have come to love about BlackBerry smartphones. And finally, powering the device all up is a large 4000mAh non-user removable battery. This, without a doubt, will be enough to get users through a day and a half worth of usage on a single charge.
BlackBerry Evolve Price in Nepal
The BlackBerry Evolve price in Nepal is Rs 33,500. This is quite a competitive pricing for the phone! For those unaware, the phone costs around Rs 40,000 (INR 24,990) in India. So to get the phone for this pricing is quite amazing. We also hear of a possible discount during their initial days of launch.
The BlackBerry Evolve is a great phone that has a lot to offer. One area that is a bit of a touchy-feely subject is the processor. BlackBerry could have packed in a bit more powerful processor! That said, BlackBerry is more about the brand than the spec sheet or the hardcore sales. It always has prioritized security over everything else! So for anyone looking for a secure phone without having to make many sacrifices, the BlackBerry Evolve is a great choice.
