Xiaomi Nepal has finally launched their latest mid-tier smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi A3 in Nepal. The phone was introduced in July and now has made its arrival here. The Mi A3 now has a significantly better camera along with a bump in specs and battery. The upgrade from the Mi A2 isn’t as straightforward though since the new Mi A3 has some key features missing. One more thing to note is that the new Mi A3 price in Nepal is lower than the price of Mi A2 at launch.
Xiaomi Mi A3 Features
Mi A3 now features a new design with a slimmer footprint. The phone has smaller bezels and a water-drop notch. Since the side bezels are almost non-existent, the phone is easier to hold. It has a glass back design which has a familiar gradient-type look. Overall, the Xiaomi Mi A3 now has a much better build compared to its predecessors. The upgrade in design is significant and definitely competitive against other similar phones.
Xiaomi has done something interesting with the display. The phone now has a better Super AMOLED display that provides better contrast and vibrant colors. However, the display has a 6.01-inches 720p resolution. The drop in resolution makes it difficult to decide if the display change is an upgrade or a downgrade. Still, the phone has a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
Besides the odd display change, the phone only gets better in terms of other specs, including the hardware. The new Mi A3 has a max. 6GB RAM and a 128GB internal storage variant. It is powered by a Snapdragon 665 processor and the Adreno 610 graphics unit. Mi A3 also uses a special Android One software that guarantees continuous software updates and optimized performance. So, the user experience is the best Android has to offer. Following Android 9.0, the phone will get official upgrades to Android 10 and further.
Mi A3 Triple Cameras
Recently, cameras are the biggest focus for new smartphones, so Mi A3 has the most ridiculous camera combo in the market. The phone has a 48MP AI triple camera setup that includes the flagship 48MP IMX586 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP depth sensor. Out of these 3 camera sensors, the 2MP one is only for portrait effects. The half-inch 48MP sensor is widely used in 2019 flagship phones, so the camera on Mi A3 should be on par with the flagship standard. The Mi A3 also has a stellar front shooter! The camera has a 32MP sensor with a 1.6μm pixel size. Usually, the front cameras have crappy quality in low-light so the 1.6μm pixel size will help with better photos at night.
Mi A3 is really a complete budget package for a 2019 smartphone. The phone has a larger 4030mAh battery that supports up to 18W fast charging. The in-display fingerprint scanner has a bigger scanning area and high accuracy.

Despite all the new features, the biggest upgrade for Mi A3 is its price. Mi A3 price in Nepal is Rs. 23,999 for 4GB+64GB variant. While the 6GB+128GB variant of Mi A3 costs Rs. 27,999. The phone is available in three colors: Grey, Blue, and White. The phone goes on sale via Daraz.com.np and Sastodeal starting on the 11th of September.
