Pashupati Traders, the official distributor of Micromax smartphones in Nepal has launched their latest budget smartphone, the Micromax Canvas 1. The phone is priced at Rs 12,485 and it offers some great specs is to price ratio. Here is all you need to know about this device.

The Micromax Canvas 1 packs a 5 inch HD IPS display with a pixel density of 294PPI. The display is edged out by a 2.5D glass but sadly doesn’t come with Gorilla glass protection. Under the hood, the Canvas 1 packs a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor along with the Mali T720MP2 GPU. The processor is backed by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The inbuilt memory can be further expanded via a micro-sd card up to 64GB. The phone also is 4G compatible and supports dual Nano-sim cards.

In the camera side of things, the phone packs an8MP rear camera accompanied by a dual tone LED flash. The phone too has a 5MP front camera also with a LED flash for all your selfies. Software-wise, the phone runs Micromax’s own custom UI based on Android 7.0 Nougat. The phone sadly doesn’t come with a fingerprint scanner which we would have loved to see in a budget-oriented smartphone. However, the phone does offer other sensors like an accelerometer, proximity sensor, and a digital compass. And finally powering this device all up is a 2500mAh non-user removable battery. This coupled with the 720p display will be enough to get users through a full day of moderate to heavy usage without any problems.
