Nokia, at MWC 2018, has taken the wraps off their latest flagship smartphone- the Nokia 8 Sirocco. The phone, as the name implies, is the follow up to last year’s Nokia 8. The new Nokia 8, is leaps and bounds away from its predecessor both in terms of hardware and software. It offers a more premium look, curved edge panel, and an 18:9 near bezel-less design. These all included, here is everything else the phone has to offer for a price of around Rs $924.
The Nokia Sirocco sports a 5.5-inch Quad-HD (1440 x 2560) P-OLED display with an 18:9 near bezel-less design. The pixel-packed display with 534PPI comes protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. This time around, Nokia has equipped the phone with an edge panel on either side of the phone. Very similar to Samsung’s old Galaxy S6 Edge!
Under the hood, the Nokia 8 Sirocco packs an octa-core Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 835 processor along with the Adreno 540 GPU. The processor is backed by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The memory of the phone can be further expanded via a micro-sd card up to 256GB. The phone also supports dual-sim cards but only at the expense of the memory card slot. And all these goodness comes in a glass and metal body, rated IP67 for dust and water resistance.
In the camera department, the Nokia 8 Sirocco goes all out with a dual camera set up made by a f/1.75 12MP and f/2.6 12MP sensor. The primary Carl Zarl Zeis optics also sports OIS and dual-pixel phase detection autofocus. The phone also has a f/2.0 5MP front-camera for all your social media ready selfies. And sitting just below the rear cameras is a fingerprint scanner embedded into the phone’s back panel.

Moving on, at the software front, the new Nokia 8 runs an almost stock version of Android 8.0 Oreo. And finally powering this device all up is a 3260mAh non-user removable battery. This coupled with the Quick Charge 4.0 capabilities will make up for a prolonged battery life.
