The iQOO brand belongs to the Chinese smartphone giant, Vivo. This sub-brand focuses on making gaming-specific android smartphones with a target on performance and usability. The new iQOO Z1 specifications include a new MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000+ SoC which is the defining attribute of the phone. In fact, the phone is really just an iQOO Neo3 5G with just the Snapdragon 865 processor swapped out for the Dimensity chip.

In terms of design, the phone comes with a glossy back along with a punch-hole display. The camera punch-hole lies at the right side of the display instead of the left like others. Since the iQOO is a gaming phone, the screen also has a high refresh rate of 144Hz. The iQOO display measures in at 6.57-inches and has a FULL HD resolution (2408×1080 pixels).
The performance of a gaming phone is all that matters really, so the iQOO comes with a custom performance-boosting system, Multi-Turbo 3.5. This allows for increased performance during gaming sessions. There’s also an inbuilt liquid cooling that keeps the phone cool with quick heat dissipation. In terms of pure specs, iQOO Z1 hardware comprises of a Mediatek Dimensity 1000+ chipset along with three different RAM/storage configurations – 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB, and 8GB/256GB.
At the back, there is a triple camera setup with a 48MP main camera. There’s also an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro camera. As for the front camera, there’s a 16MP sensor tugged inside the hole-punch display.
The iQOO Z1 also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner instead of an in-display fingerprint scanner in flagships. It also packs a pretty large 4500 mAh battery for gaming. So, the phone can last a while even while gaming. Even if the juice runs out, the iQOO Z1 supports a 44W SuperFlash fast charging support. So, no long breaks are necessary while waiting for the phone to charge.
iQOO Z1 Price and Where to Buy
The iQOO Z1 price for the base model with 6GB/128GB config. is CNY 2,198($310). For the 8GB/128GB variant, it costs CNY 2,498($352). As for the highest-end model with 8GB/256GB option, the iQOO Z1 costs CNY 2,798($395). Currently, the phone is up for pre-orders only in China through Vivo’s website.
