On December 15th, 2019, Huawei Nepal organized the Huawei media meetup where they shared different aspects of the business they conduct in Nepal including smartphone sales. Huawei also launched its latest Huawei Mate 30 Pro smartphone and showcased its new smart wearables like Huawei Watch GT2, Band 4 and Free buds 3 wireless headphones in the event.
Huawei in Telecommunication
The company brought 2/3/4G technologies to Nepal starting from 1999. It has partnered with telecom operators to quickly deploy the communication network, including in remote areas. So, the company is responsible for enhancing the quality of telecommunication service, building the physical foundation of “Digital Nepal”. The company is also planning on introducing 5G services in Nepal in the near future.
Huawei Mobile Services
Huawei Mobiles services, also called Huawei Next, is a collection of essential apps from Huawei that are native to Huawei smartphones. The apps included in Huawei Next are Huawei AppGallery, HUAWEI Browser, HUAWEI Mobile Cloud, HUAWEI Themes, HUAWEI Music, HUAWEI Video, HUAWEI Assistant and other HMS apps like HUAWEI ID, Huawei
Health, Huawei Themes, HUAWEI Music. Huawei has allocated USD 3 billion and 3000 staff for R&D just for developing this set of services. Huawei is trying to stay away from Google services, as seen by the exclusion of any Google apps in Huawei Mate 30 Pro. So, Huawei is probably trying to develop its own respectable replacements.

Huawei Mate 30 Pro
They finally launched Huawei Mate 30 Pro in Nepal. The phone has the flagship Kirin 990 SoC along with quad cameras at the back. Huawei Mate 30 Pro has a 32MP front camera and two 40MP cameras along with an 8MP zoom camera and a 3D depth sensor camera. For more info, look at our article on the phone.
Huawei Y9s
Huawei Y9s is another phone launched at the event. It is an upgrade to the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019. It has an auto pop-up selfie camera along with an ultra-wide-angle 4MP AI triple cameras. The fingerprint scanner is mounted at the side, instead of the rear placement.
Huawei Wearables and Accessories
In Huawei media meetup, Huawei also showcased its wearable products like Huawei Free Buds 3, FreeLace, Watch GT 2, Band 4 and Band 4e. Huawei Watch GT 2 is the premium wearable watch that sports a 42mm full-color AMOLED screen with a 455 mAh battery.
