Redmi Note 9 Pro is going on sale in India today, 6th of May, in the middle of the day. The phone boasts impressive specs include a Snapdragon octa-core processor and four cameras at the back. Xiaomi announced the phone back in March and is now taking orders via its website, Mi.com. Redmi Note 9 Pro price depends on the RAM and storage size. The cheaper variant costs INR. 13,999. Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the Indian government has only allowed the delivery of non-essentials like smartphones in Orange and Green zones in India.
Redmi Note 9 Pro Features and Specifications
Redmi Note 9 Pro has an edge-to-edge display design with a camera cut-out at the center top of the screen. Its design is generic but manages to distinguish itself from the horde of phones out there with its camera design at the back. The square placed cameras on the back with distinct outlines separates the Redmi Note 9 Pro from the rest.
Redmi Note 9 Pro display consists of a 6.67-inch screen with FULL-HD+ 1080x2400p resolution. Xiaomi is still not using the AMOLED screens on its Redmi phones and instead has the same old IPS LCD panel.
In terms of hardware and performance, it uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor along with Adreno 618 GPU. Mid-range phones are getting powerful with every new processor, however, 720G falls below the pecking order of mid-range chips for Android phones. It still is very capable and paired with the 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM, there shouldn’t be any complaints.

The quad-camera setup at the back comes with a 48MP main shooter. The other 3 cameras include an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. As for the front camera hiding in the display cutout, it has a 16MP sensor for selfies.
Redmi Note 9 Pro internal storage goes up to 128GB easily expandable via a microSD card. The phone also leads in terms of battery capacity, as it packs a 5,020 mAh battery with 18W fast charging.
