Xiaomi launched its own set of flagship killer smartphones: Redmi K20 and K20 Pro, that could be your next smartphone. The phone is priced at least $360 with flagship design and hardware. Both phones are refined versions of Xiaomi’s Pocophone F1 with better design and cameras.
Redmi K20 and K20 Pro Specs, Camera
Starting off with the display, Redmi K20 and K20 Pro pack an OLED display that provides deep contrast and color reproduction. The AMOLED panels are the first for any Redmi phone until now. Designwise, the phones pack a bezel-free screen with a pop-up selfie camera.
Redmi K20 screen is a 6.39-inch 1080p screen with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The display is guarded by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, but a case would be better given the phone’s build.
Redmi K20 and K20 Pro hardware
Redmi K20 is the cheaper version and thus packs a regular Snapdragon 730 processor. The chipset still packs a punch and can run most of the gaming titles and multitasking with little to no effort. However, K20 Pro packs the latest Snapdragon 855 processor used in all the other flagship phones like OnePlus 7 Pro and Samsung S10. Both phones come with 6GB and 8 GB RAM options along with max flash storage of 256GB.
Overall the two phones pack the same sensors and focal lengths. The main camera is a triple camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor. The 13MP camera is an ultrawide camera, while the third 8MP camera lets you zoom by 2x optically. The trio of cameras at the back thus offers versatility in terms of taking images based on the subject.
The selfie camera also looks respectable on paper. Redmi K20 phones pack a 20MP front camera housed inside the motorized mechanism. This feature puts K20 phones in a top tier list of flagship phones as well.
Both phones come with the latest Android 9.0 software with MIUI 10 skin on top. For security, it also has the under display fingerprint scanner alongside the existing face unlock option. Redmi K20 also has enough juice to last a full day. The 4000mAh battery is abundant, however, heavy gaming can drain the juice pretty quick.
Redmi K20 and K20 Pro Prices
Redmi K20 costs as low as EUR 260 for the base version. On the other hand, K20 Pro can cost up to USD $434 for the 8GB+256GB RAM and storage variants.
