Have you ever wondered how easy it can be to use a mobile app for trading shares? Ever since all the stocks and debentures on NEPSE were dematerialized, the investors were happier than ever. However, there was always a question in their head. What’s next? And where is the mobile app? So, to answer that question, CDSC today has launched the ‘Mero Share App’ on the Play Store.
What is a Mero Share App?
If you have been into the investment line, you’ll be familiar with the term Mero Share. If not, don’t fright, we’re here to explain. The word Mero Share literally means ‘my shares’ or ‘the stocks that I own’. The app will help us keep track of our stock portfolios and also notify us about the current public offerings. Until now, we had to access Mero Share through a browser but now we finally have a separate app.
Why is the Mero Share App Here?
These days, the stocks are dematerialized and all our stocks are saved in a digital form. For that, we need to have a DEMAT account. And to see the shares and/ or to apply for the new offerings, we’ll need a Mero Share account.
We can apply for new shares from the web portal but we have seen many crashes there recently. We hope that the app will solve this problem now. The Mero Share platform will help you buy the shares from the primary market. We will cover the information about trading in the secondary market in our next post.
If you are willing to be a stock market investor you will need to open a DEMAT account from any capital firm. As soon as you get the BOID, you’ll need to fill up the C-ASBA form and the Mero Share account request form. They will email you the username and password. Now, you can access your Mero Share account via their web portal or an app.
How to download the Mero Share app?
- Download the app following the link.
- Open the app and choose the Depository Participants.
- Now enter your username and password.
- Now you will see the Dashboard upon the login.
Mero Share App: Verdict
The app is available only on Google Play Store as of now. The app is in its beta stage and it will take some time to go LIVE on Apple’s App Store. Nepalese share investors were waiting for this app for a long time. Although you can download this app from the Play Store, you cannot apply for any shares as of now. You’ll still need to access the Mero Share web portal to apply for the new offerings. However, slowly but surely, the developers will add the feature to apply for shares from the palm of your hands, in the future.
