AMD recently announced three new models in its Ryzen 3000 lineup of desktop processors. Just like the previous 3000 lineup desktop CPUs, the new XT processors are also based on a 7nm Zen 2 architecture. The processors will go on sale on July 7 and offer a performance boost over the previous X processors. Despite the performance boost, the Ryzen 3000XT processors price are the same as the previous ones at the time of their launch.
AMD Ryzen 3600XT, 3800XT, 3900XT Features
The new 3000XT lineup consists of three desktop processors including the AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT, Ryzen 7 3800XT, and Ryzen 3900XT. All three are clocked higher than the 3600X, 3800X and 3600X respectively. Ryzen 3800XT has a 200Hz frequency boost of up to 4.7Ghz. Ryzen 9 3900XT and Ryzen 5 3600XT received a 100Hz frequency boost even though all three processors have the same TDPs as their predecessors.
AMD processors have certainly led the desktop CPU race when it comes to the number of cores. However, Intel has still managed to offer single-core high boost clocks with their processors. This made the Intel processors a better choice for gaming, as gaming usually depends on single-core performance.
Even though the performance increase seems small, AMD is confident that this will be enough to turn the tables in terms of single-core performance.

The 3000X series of processors all came with a stock AMD Wraith Spire coolers. However, for 3800X and 3900X processors, most users use more powerful third-party coolers. So, for the new 3800XT and 3900XT processors, AMD doesn’t ship a stock cooler with these high-end processors. Customers will still receive a free Wraith Spire Cooler for the new Ryzen 5 3600XT processors. As for the 3800XT and 3900XT processors, AMD recommends “a minimum 280mm radiator or equivalent air cooling.
